One month to convocation and prom! :O Unbelievable! After six years and here comes the last month!
And suddenly, wham, the realization that the guys will be leaving for NS starting this December.. Ray on 13/12, Stuart and TPL on 30/1, Dylan, Bernard, Ernest, Tiongsuan, Andre on 1/2, Jingmin on 7/5 and Ivan on 8/5. The rest still haven't gotten their enlistment dates yet so, we'll see! I guess this means that we have to start moving on from our high school lives and start growing up. Guys will be missing next year, girls will be flying off for university.... Going to miss everyone so much! Make full use of the remaining month in high school!
Farewell assembly rehearsals have been driving my mad. Trying to get our level together is really, really tough. But I'm glad with the progress we have achieved in the past week! From practicing simple dances to ironing out the messy scenes to getting a whole musical together! I'm sure our performance on Monday would be awesome!!! Keep it up guys! Just a few more days to go!
Sometimes I don't get why people choose to go to prestigious schools. Well yeah, there's the prestige obviously if you tell someone that you graduated from Harvard or something. But other than that piece of paper to certify your graduation from that school, what else is there to that name? Better education? I don't think that education in prestigious schools would differ THAT much from others. Maybe better funding and facilities, more well-known professors..but then again having the PhDs don't exactly mean that they are better at passing their knowledge down, right? Then what happens if you graduate from a school that is more prestigious? Everyone is graduating from university now, even having a PhD isn't something that is very special. Does that mean that a company would be better off hiring someone who has graduated from a so-called 'better' university? Then what happens to those who come out from the other universities? Does their university education become invalid? Well I don't know if it's just me, but sometimes I see no point in the world revolving around the fact that getting into a more famous university would give you better chances in the society. More brains does not mean that there is more substance - it may just mean that the person is able to mug really well. Why should some jobs like even teaching primary school kids require a single piece of paper to state that you have graduated from university? Does that mean that the world is putting everything else before a simple thing like passion?
And another thing is why do people choose to or not to participate in certain events when they are open for all to join? If a certain group of people chooses to participate while another group doesn't, does it mean that the event has only been catered to that certain group of people or does it mean that the other group should open up and try mingling around with others beyond their comfort zone? Does the other group of people choose not to participate because they think that the event is biased against their wants or is it because they are uncomfortable mixing with people they are unfamiliar with?
Why do people enjoy talking others down? Are their opinions objective or are they simply made because of personal reasons like them trying to come up with excuses for their lack in performance or to boost their own confidence by making others feel their suffering? Why can't people accept things for the way they are and simply move on with their lives? Why hold grudges when you can be a happy and free soul?
Well now that you have read all the questions that have been lingering in my mind for the past few days, you must be thinking that either 1. I am a depressed soul with many emotional problems and I need help from the counsellor, or 2. I am writing these questions out on my blog because when I write them I actually have someone in mind, or 3. I think too much and should stop thinking, or 4. I am not making sense at all. It's none of the above! Okay maybe 3 or 4, but definitely not 1 or 2. These are just random things I think about all the time. I don't know where these questions come from! Maybe I subconsciously crave for somethings and answers to these questions would satisfy them! :O Hm, yeah, another question, are things we do during each and every moment of our lives that we do not notice due to things that we are thinking about subconsciously? Or are they actually things that are we do on purpose but we choose to disconnect the movements of our bodies from our hearts?
Do people choose to be happy or do they choose to be sad?
